The record didn't include the father's name, but there are enough alternate sources so that we know he was Michael McManus. It is no surprise to learn that both parents were born in Ireland in 1836/37. Charles and Margaret were born in Massachusetts during the years 1863-65. That was during the Civil War. Perhaps Michael was a soldier. Charles and Margaret were the Godparents of their nephew, Harry Connors Sr. in 1893. When Harry Connors applied for a birth certificate in the early 1950s, probably because of Social Security, James McManus was listed as a witness.
